She served there as a morning news anchor, and was a member of the field news team that covered the 2012 High Park fire, a wildfire located in the mountains west of Fort Collins in Larimer County, Colorado.
According to the reports, the fire was caused by a lightning strike and lasted for almost an entire month before it was contained. The fire caused a casualty and burned over 87,000 acres, the second largest fire recorded in Colorado by area burned. Around 260 homes were destroyed, making it the third most destructive fire in Colorado history.
