Born Thomas Jonathan Bateman on the 15th March 1989, in Oxford, Oxfordshire England, he grew up in Jericho, Oxford, one of 14 children born to working-class parents, who are both teachers. One of Tom’s many siblings is his twin brother Merlin.
Tom went to Cherwell School, and later on joined the National Youth Theatre. Eventually, he got into the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, after acquiring a prestigious Leverhulme Scholarship.
